At the UU and HS

Arrive: 4:30 at the CWB to transport stuff
Leave: Once stuff is all transported back to CWB and put away

At the HS

The assistant manager is a “floater” who helps where needed and is also the "gofer" who might be sent out on an errand if needed.
Duties
  1. Supervise room set up
Get things started and rolling. If the setup volunteers are doing ok, move on to check on coffee, door, making up white boards, etc. At the CWB, be sure to pay special attention to where everything was, as it's important to put everything back in its rightful spot afterwards.
At the HS, there are 2 asst managers and no setup person, since all that needs to be set up are tables and often the custodian will help. The assistant managers should set up:
    • For snacks, two tables along the wall down the hallway to the right of the entrance for coffee and drinks, two table in the center opposite the drinks for goodies.
    • One narrow table for ticket sales.
    • Two small tables between doors to auditorium for CD sales
    • One small table along wall next to cafeteria for WPSU or other promotional stuff.
  2. Help at door
While people are coming in, hang out with door person unless you are needed elsewhere. It works well for door person to sell tickets and asst mgr to tear them. As people come in, remind them to sign the mailing list.
  3. During breaks
If needed, help out with coffee or CD sales.
Skim the money from the donation basket and hold onto it until the end of the evening - then count it and give it to the manager. At the HS, it's especially important to keep up with the skimming job since there are so many people, so much money collected, and the money is a distance from the performance area.
  4. After show
Just before performer’s encore, duck out to front hall so you’re ready. As people leave, stand at the door with a stack of flyers and give them to people that want them. Thank people for coming.
